Papua Should be Integrated to NKRI

INTRODUCTION
This essay will explain the reason why Indonesia has
to do everything to keep Papua still in NKRI. Papua is Indonesian black pearl,
whatever the situation and condition, Indonesia has to keep Papua. It is not about
Papua should be integrated to NKRI but it is a
Must that Papua must be integrated to NKRI. Then also, there are some
reasons why Indonesia should do that. Here is the time to explain little
bit about those reasons.
BODY
Education
level.
Education level in Papua is still far behind, when it
compared to other regions in Indonesia. The head
of the Education, Youth and Sports Service in the province of Papua,
James Modouw, said that there are at least one thousand kampungs (villages)
spread across the province where there is no primary school. Many children in Papua never touch education at all.
If Papua separate themselves from Indonesia with that education quality, are
they able to lead their island by themselves and resist the foreign company
that is constantly taking their own natural wealth. May be if it happen, Papua
will colonize by them. So Indonesia has to keep Papua.
All conflicts in Papua are the act of OPM
OPM or separatism is one of the causes of the conflict
in Papua. Their goal is to create the impression to central governments and
local governments as well as international parties that Papua is often unsafe
because of the OPM itself, it is clearly aimed at thwarting ideas and noble
desire of Papuans for dialogue or discussion with the Indonesian government in
the near future. Papuans who are not OPM actually won’t the war as happened in
Papua today. That they really want is Indonesia government and Papuan sit
together in one table to discuss the way out of all the problems in Papua
itself. For example in October 10th 2011 representative of Papuan
from Amugme and Kamoro who lived around Freeport Indonesia came to see the
leader of PBNU (Pengurus Besar Nahdatul Ulama) Said Aqil Siroj to convey some
of their complaints; there is still violence, shootings, and economic injustice
in Papua and they ask him to help and voice the tyranny, human rights
violations, and economic injustice which they feel to government. It proof that
Papuan actually wants to solve the problem by good ways. All forms of protest
to voice Papuan independence, was the act of separatist or Papuan activists
under the auspices of the OPM. From the conflicts, war and terror killing to
the news on the Internet about Papuan independence, the writers are the
activists, not native Papua.
Conflicts
in Papua are about ‘adu domba’
As the research of Eben Kirskey that conflict in Papua
is about ‘adu domba’ who held by foreign company. Not only British Petroleum
who provoke the OPM, Indonesian military, TNI and native Papuan, but also the
other big company likes Freeport. According to newspaper reports the New York
Times in 2005, PT Freeport Indonesia claimed to have paid around 20 million
U.S. dollars to the military to forcibly evict residents from their territory
from 1998 to 2004.
Papua's
natural resources should belong to the Papuans.
Papua is very rich but unfortunately not Indonesia who
handles it. It is because there are many big foreign companies who exploit the
natural resources in Papua.
So that Papuans themselves do not get what is supposed to be theirs. This is
the government's fault that negligent, but When the Papua can be still
in Indonesia, that is the time for Indonesia to make the tax system better so that we can raise taxes as much as
possible of what they took from Papua and it is used for the welfare of Papua
itself.
CONCLUSION
In the conclusion Indonesia has to
keep Papua because the conflicts is about ‘adu domba’
